CalypsoBCI is an early-stage deep-tech Brain-Computer Interface startup developing a cutting-edge AR-Glass controlled by brain signals. Our mission is to create intuitive interactions for AR, enabling seamless control of smart environments. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate Co-Founder to join our team and lead the hardware development efforts.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated Co-Founder with foundational knowledge of electrical engineering, a keen interest in sensor technology, and enthusiasm for learning and developing innovative hardware solutions. You will be responsible for driving the design and development of our hardware systems, working closely with the core team to bring our technology to life.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and iteration of early-stage prototypes balancing functionality, usability, and comfort.
- Develop and implement firmware for microcontrollers and other electronic components.
- Develop seamless interfaces between the BCI, AR systems, sensors, and embedded technologies.
- Address hardware challenges, including circuit design, PCB layout, and power management, to deliver efficient and scalable solutions.
- Stay curious and explore advancements in AR, optics, display technologies, and wearable devices.
- Contribute to strategic decisions as a core team member shaping the company’s future.
What We Are Looking For
- A strong interest and understanding in electrical engineering, embedded systems, and sensor integration.
- Experience with microcontroller programming and basic circuit design (from university projects or personal prototypes).
- A portfolio of relevant projects (academic or personal) that show your passion for hardware development.
- Eagerness to learn about power management, wireless communication, and hardware-software interfacing.
- Creativity, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to experiment with new ideas.
- Currently pursuing or holding a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Located in Germany or willing to relocate; basic German language skills (C1 preferred) are a plus.
